Like a bullet or a speeding car You've been there for me through it all And if you're here now listen to my call I've seen fire and I've seen rain I've learned it all and forgot it again Listen to my words and what I have to say This is my life and I like it this way You think you know what is best for me Look in my eyes, you'll be surprised what you see You'll never know what's inside my heart But in my life you'll always have your part I think I know what you're trying to do To save me from what happened to you But I learned from you a long time ago Not to take life fast but to take it real slow To have control I'll do whatever it takes I'll learn for myself, from my own mistakes I won't let you run my life any more And if you try I'll just even the score This is my life, I like it like this

Please don't cage me, set me free It Wasn'tShe was pretty As most 16 year olds are Her hair was dark and wavy And her eyes shone like the stars She was loved and popular By both her family and friends She drove the latest car And she wore the latest trends But that was on the outside She seemed to be perfect But if you took a look inside You'd see quite the opposite She felt all alone and cold With no one to turn to She had put herself on hold To be perfect just for you Because all her friends were fake The true her was never seen But she knew what it would take And she knew what it would mean Because you never looked her way You didn't know her name She thought that things would stay They would all remain the same You were in the thousands She was only one You were every single friend That left her out of fun It could have been avoided By words, you could have said But it wasn't And now she's like an angel Dead 10/1/2006 L BackpackersWall of names

I believe that angels Are sent from up above. To guide us through our actions With patience faith and love. I believe that centaurs Are with us everyday. Only few have talked to them About what? Whose to say? I believe that faeries Are with us everywhere. The help us live our lives With gentleness and care. I believe that mermaids live beneath the sea. And when I am in trouble They come and rescue me. I believe that horses Fly amoung the clouds. They rescue me from my thoughts When silence gets too loud. I believe that magic In the world has a part. It's inside everyone of us It lives inside the heart. |
